Last night (11/11), Irish Jo from the MKFM team attended the Land of Lights, last night at Gulliver’s Land with her daughter Laila.

Land of Lights at Gulliver’s Resort, from 12 November 2022 – 26 February 2023, features a one-mile-long wonderland of illuminations. Spread across 12 vivid dreamworlds, they include colourful, gigantic lanterns inspired by animals, mega monuments and wonders of the natural world.

Guests will explore the enchanting installations, which includes thousands of individual lanterns and over 63,000 LED lights. The experience features an eclectic mix of music and entertainment and a wide selection of festive food, street-eats and seasonal drinks will be available for purchase.

A wide selection of street food and seasonal drink options is also available throughout the festival.

More than 100 people are involved in the production process undertaken by Zigong Lantern Group, which takes three months to finish as each lantern is carefully handcrafted by skilled artisans.

    Here is Irish Jo's review:

On arrival to the venue getting ready to park, the outside is the most spectacular array of lights. You walk in through the gates, with a lit up dome greeting you, inviting you in.

Inside, were amazing trapeze dancers with illuminous hair which shine up from the lights. My 7 year old daughter Laila, was in awe watching!

To say this was a great start, is an understatement.

We then started our 1 mile journey, in awe of the 12 vivid dreamworlds featuring gigantic lanterns inspired by animals, mega monuments and wonders of the world.

You go through a little village where you can also pick up some hot drinks, so we indulged in hot chocolates covered in marshmallows and it just couldn’t of been more of a perfect winter night. Street food was also available so we had two pancakes to keep us warm while admiring the 50,000 light show.

This is a beautiful walk and I would highly recommend it for all ages.

Darren Hoy, Gulliver’s manager, was on site and said, “We are so excited this weekend is finally here with Saturday night, the first night open to the public sold out already”.

If you would like to book Land of lights for you and your family or friends, please do so here Land of Lights Festival | Land of Lights Festival or listen to MKFM Drive all next week where we will be giving away a pair of tickets every day.
