Carly from the MKFM team was invited along to The Residence Bar & Kitchen in The Hub to preview their Royale Brunch. Here is her review...
The experience
What a treat to walk into the newly opened Residence Bar & Kitchen. The beautiful lighting, the cascading florals and the sumptuous booths make this a gorgeous place to come and spend a Saturday. The 80’s music was right up our street, the staff were so welcoming and warm.
The menu is jam packed with so many small plates and I wanted to try them all! We had the cheese fondue sharing platter which we added the extra flat iron steak onto. The overnight balsamic infused onions were absolutely gorgeous. This is our favourite kind of eating, grazing while having a couple of bottles of fizz is our idea of perfection.
The dinky bottles paired with the Prosecco were so much fun! The idea of being your own mixologist and having fun with flavours was brilliant, we tried passion fruit/ strawberry/ lychee and chambord. The lychee puree surprised us both as being our favourite. Having a read of the cocktail menu made us smile the descriptions of each one are quirky and fun and Carl enjoyed his Old Fashioned.
If we didn't have a Dons match to get to this is the kind of place that you could while away most of your Saturday and on this particular Saturday I so wish we could have stayed as they had Big Mama Funk singing into the evening, we were there for her warm up and she sounded incredible!
My other half has spoken about going back here every day since which is a very high commendation and I agree with him I can't think of anywhere better to spend a lazy day dipping all the yummy foods in melted cheese and washing it down with bubbles.
