Young ballers from across Milton Keynes celebrate 5 On It's anti-gang initiative

The event was run in recognition of 5 On It's anti-gang initiative Gang Today Gone Tomorrow which uses basketball and mentoring to inspire, educate and push young people away from gangs.

Young ballers from all over Milton Keynes turned up for Monday’s fantastic 3x3 basketball tournament at The Bletchley Leisure organised by Milton Keynes charity 5 On It Foundation in partnership with the MK Basketball club.

Throughout the day nearly 100 boys and girls, all wearing Gang Today Gone Tomorrow t-shirts to promote the anti-gang message, battled on court and were given free pizza, courtesy of Dominos, whilst winners from each age group were presented with medals by Michaela Clark and Peter Bakare from The Milton Keynes Community Foundation who were one of the key funders of the tournament. The Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr Mohammed Khan, at-tended too to support the event!

London Lions Team Legends Nigel Lloyd, Jordan Spencer, Kai Williams and Chris Tawiah were star attractions, as was local dancing talent Tee Nemisis.

Check out 5 On It’s Youtube channel to see highlights of the tournament.

Gang Today Gone Tomorrow is an ongoing anti-gang programme and 5 On It Foundation welcome any support from local businesses or funding organisa-tions.

More events are planned for next year, more details to be announced soon here.
