September Newsletter from Camphill MK!

As ever, they have been busy bees and can boast a whole host of activities.

Show Your Support by Getting Creative

Our community welcomes you to be part of our story as we build new accessible homes. You are invited to make a ceramic tile to be part of our Tile Me a Story fundraising art piece for our Camphill MK site. The crowd-funding project, a modern and creative twist on the standard ‘buy-a-brick’ schemes repeated around the country, is a celebration of all things Camphill. The tiles are made in our on-site ceramic studios by residents, with designs created in collaboration with both the residents and the general public, fostering a sense of inclusivity and community.

We gathered in our Round House Paddock to celebrate the launch of our new polytunnel, The Grow Dome.

Our garden team has worked very hard on the project, which started in 2023. Our Tools for Self-Reliance workshop created a beautiful plaque that hangs at the entrance, which was unveiled by our resident Owen to residents, staff, and trustees. Big thanks to the National Open Garden Scheme for the grant to make the space happen!

Our residents got the opportunity to lay stones and become a part of the new building project on our Pennyland site.

We love that they carved their names into some of the stones and became a part of the building itself. We’re so thankful to our construction partners, Watson & Cox Construction and Gary Cook and his stonemason team for their help in facilitating!

Our Arts & Crafts Workshop worked on the Camphill Flag Project for the Festival of Camphill.

They designed and made a series of Batik silk flags for the opening ceremony and to decorate our grounds. These flags also featured in the Newport Pagnell Carnival and created lovely borders for our carnival float!
