First look at brand new fast-fired authentic pizza restaurant in Milton Keynes

Fireaway Pizza has just opened in Central Milton Keynes offering a unique and authentic Italian dining experience.

Based at 12th Street, the flagship restaurant lets customers watch their pizza being made in the 'viewing gallery' before it is cooked in the open stone-fired oven in just 180 seconds.

The chefs use fresh dough and handmade tomato sauce alongside locally sourced ingredients. They also give customers the option to 'make your own' pizza, similar to Subway, where they will build your very own meal in front of you.

Fireaway Pizza's very first store was opened in 2016 by Mario Aleppo to bring better pizza to the UK. His Nonna arrived in the UK from Italy in the 1950's complete with an original pizza recipe which the Fireaway pizza team has now brought to the streets of MK.

There are over 40 Fireaway Pizza stores throughout the UK which mainly focus on delivery and takeaway.

But the brand new flagship store in Milton Keynes is the first of its kind to have masses of seating with its central location making it a great new dining experience.

Fireaway Pizza is one of MKFM's partners and earlier this week we were invited down to try some of their best dishes. Pizza is a must-try, of course, but there are also plenty of other sides and alternatives to choose from too.

We tried a signature pizza called 'Roma', which had plenty of pepperoni and mozzarella, and also made our own vegetarian option which had three kinds of cheese and even pesto on top *chefs kiss*.

It was also recommended that we try the chicken strips, which come in different flavours, so we decided to go for the BBQ Crunch. The chicken was incredibly crispy yet tender and the BBQ sauce tasted incredibly fresh.

The MKFM team are fans of everything sweet so we paired the pizza with two milkshakes, Oreo and Strawberry, which were both made with Italian ice-cream.

We then topped off the meal with a Pistachio 'space rock' which is a ball of flavoursome gelato topped with Nutella sauce.

"The restaurant has a very relaxed atmosphere to it making it perfect for either lunch or dinner," said Sam Carmichael from MKFM. "The tables are well spaced out and there is plenty of room to move around so you feel very safe too.

“I can’t say I’ve ever had pizza like this outside of Italy. It tasted incredibly authentic and transported me to the Amalfi Coast! Fireaway Pizza is a great new addition to 12th Street and brings a new type of experience to the MK food scene."
