MKFM went along to celebrate the opening of Starbucks new store in Westcroft.
Today, 23rd September, Starbucks opened it's doors to a huge queue of new customers. Simon Birch along with new Store Manager Rosie beamed with pride to see the new store open. Rosie is a familiar face from Starbucks in Midsummer place where she has been for fourteen years!
The Deputy Mayor and Mayoress were in attendance and James can be seen enjoying his Vanilla Latte in the photos! Emily's Star, a charity that supports children in Milton Keynes aged 0-25 who fall under the care of the children with complex needs nursing team, also based in Westcroft were invited along to be part of the celebrations.
It was really heart warming to see their next door neighbours Aldi arrive with goodies for the staff to welcome them. They were also presented with a home made cake that Ula from Aldi had lovingly made herself. It was good to see all of the staff chatting with volunteers from Emily's Star hoping that connections can be made to support them.
Simon told us about his plans for a shared community space at the back of the coffee shop which we hope to revisit in the future once it's ready and look forward to hearing how this can benefit local charities and community groups.
