The experience
Jo and I went along to The Three Trees on a Thursday lunchtime. The queue to get into the carpark told me everything that I needed to know, this place is popular so the food must be good! We were there to sample their festive party menu so we started with the traditional Prawn Cocktail and the Pate, Jo had been dreaming about their Pate since she had read the menu the day before. Tell me we aren't alone with checking out the menu in advance? Jo ordered the Pork Belly, Pan-Fried Apricot Pork belly with apricot jam stuffing, served with creamy mash, braised red cabbage & cider gravy which she said was amazing. I opted for the more traditional carvery with all the meats and all of the sprouts there is no way to make a build your own carvery still look pretty as you load it higher and higher! The roast potatoes were something else and all of the meats were lovely and juicy. We moved onto desserts and Clea surprised us with a Winter Berry Eton Mess Meringue, chantilly cream, winter berries and ice cream and a Salted Caramel Cheesecake Deliciously creamy cheesecake, served with vanilla ice cream both were extremely naughty but very, very nice! We then stayed to have some fancy festive cocktails which were delicious especially the Gingerbread Martini. It was a real treat to get to sample food here as it's a real home away from home as the food is all cooked from scratch the restaurant is full of knick-knacks giving it a real homely feel and the staff are wonderfully welcoming people that make you feel right at home. If you are over in Bletchley and want to support a great family run business whilst enjoying some really tasty home cooked food get along to The Three Trees!
