MKFM’s Liam Wood took a dive into some magical local theatre, to see The Little Mermaid at The Venue MK and here is his review...
MKAOS (who also put on the very successful Dreams ‘n’ Wishes pantomimes) have transformed The Venue MK into the undersea world of Disney’s *The Little Mermaid*, delivering a vibrant and enchanting production that left everyone thoroughly enchanted - especially me and my niece Lily!
It really hit the mark for some high quality, budget-friendly, magical Disney entertainment!
The cast were brilliant, performing the much-loved and well-known songs wonderfully. Led by Esther Walkling-Lea, (Ariel) whose voice soared through iconic numbers like “Part of Your World”. Cameron Richardson as Prince Eric matched her charm.
Other standout characters included Chris Lay as Sebastian, Amy Hansford as Scuttle and Jasmine Heath as Flounder - who all also displayed fabulous (and funny) puppetry skills!
And Rachel Smith as Ursula was delightfully menacing, delivering a powerful presence, and my favourite song “Poor Unfortunate Souls”!
Lily loved all the costumes, particularly Ariel’s Sisters in a full spectrum of colours!
From the first note to the final bow, the MKAOS company delivered an entertaining and enchanting show. We had a great afternoon and can’t wait to see the company in this years Panto either!
