MKFM Review: Olive Tree Towcester

Have you been to the Olive Tree just along the A5 in Towcester? MKFM was invited down to try some out-of-town (we mean City) dining.

The Olive Tree Turkish and Mediterranean Restaurant is set on the main A5 road in Towcester with an allocated car park just across the road.  Whilst it shares the same name as the restaurant on Midsummer Boulevard it's independently owned.

From the outside the restaurant looks like it was once a pub, the exterior looked extremely inviting with the appearance of soft lighting through the windows. When you enter the restaurant, you get an authentic feel straight away from the décor and lighting.

We were met by a very friendly manager and equally friendly staff. Within minutes we were presented with Turkish bread complete with some sauces and olives along with the food and drink menu.

The drinks and wine menu has a great selection along with draft lager. There is a drink for everyone’s taste and plenty to choose from and of course there are a choice of lovely cocktails to enjoy too.

Once settled we ordered our drinks and starters which included the Turkish sausage and Olive Tree Borek, this was filo pastry rolls filled with mince onions and mozzarella. It was very nice and plentiful.

For the main, we went for the mixed sharing platter. This was full of juicy and succulent meat including Chicken and lamb pieces, lamb ribs, chicken and lamb shish and so much more all sitting on a bed of tasty rice. It's one of the best-mixed platters we have had as you can see from the photo there is plenty of food for 2.

If you are not a meat eater, the Olive Tree has an extensive choice of fish and vegetarian options.,

We have become big fans of Turkish food, especially with the likes of Enfes near Stadium MK and Mahar Bar at 12th Street who set a very high standard. As our regular readers will know, we always fly the flag for businesses in Milton Keynes but it was nice to take a short drive out of Milton Keynes and experience somewhere new.

We definitely recommend the Olive tree in Towcester, don’t just take our word for it, the Olive Tree has incredible reviews on Trip Advisor, Google, and Facebook to name a few.

The team there is very friendly, and the menu is extensive and well-presented looking around at what the other customers were ordering while we were there.
