Let's talk ear wax, help is at hand with Clearer Ears!
Ear Wax can be the common cause of not being able to hear properly, popping and discomfort when flying.
Since an early age, I have always had to have my ears syringed, apparently, my ear canal is narrow, and the wax doesn’t naturally clear itself.
Most people will have a build-up of ear wax over time and it can cause havoc with hearing, flying, and going swimming.
A few years ago a holiday was ruined when ear wax became loose after swimming and I couldn’t hear properly for the rest of my trip.
Most GP surgeries have stopped syringing ears and it’s now offered by several private practices across Milton Keynes.

The clinic at Linford Wood has free parking outside and once inside I was greeted in a nice open reception by the team.
There are three clinicians on site, Lee, Sue, and Lisa.
We started by talking about the number of times I have had my ears cleaned in the past and some brief medical history was taken.
Once I had provided some details my ears were then inspected with a small camera which was inserted into my ear (painless) and within a minute or two lee showed me detailed photos of my ear canal and ear drum.
To my surprise, there wasn’t that much wax to remove compared to previous occasions. We then agreed that suction was the best method to remove the wax.
Again, this was painless and the wax was easily removed.
What I was really impressed with was that everything was explained step by step even though I regularly have my ears cleaned. If you are new to having your ears cleaned then you are in the best hands with staff who take the time to explain everything.
Clearer eyes have several different ways of cleaning ears and even though mine was easy on this visit, sometimes the process can take a little longer.
If you have been pushing cotton buds in your ears (not recommended) then this can push the wax further down the ear canal. Again clearer ears are the experts in dealing with even the trickiest of ears.
Before I left a small amount of antibiotic fluid was put in both ears to ensure I didn’t get any infection following the cleaning. This was a first for me as usually I’m given a tissue before being sent on my way. Infections are rare, it’s fantastic that Clearer Ears are using the fluid as a belt and braces approach.
