New local food delivery app showcases independent restaurants and takeaways in Milton Keynes.
MK Eats, a new Just Eat-style food ordering app specifically for Milton Keynes, has been launched by two local people, Andy Roberts and James Cann.
Andy said, “Many people don’t realise that the likes of Just Eat charge a huge 14% or more commission to takeaways using their ordering services. That’s a lot of money that leaves our local economy to go into the pockets of the international firms.”.
The low commission rates and joining fees charged by MK Eats mean that it is great for established restaurants and takeaways, but is also a viable option for some smaller food businesses who would have previously been put off by the higher rates charged by the other companies.
As they are saving on the commission fees, some restaurants & takeaways are able to run offers and discounts on MK Eats that aren’t available on any of the other apps.
James added, “We’ve only been live for a couple of months and already have over 50 takeaways & restaurants listed with us, including lots of established places that you’ll be familiar with. There are also a few exclusives that you won’t find on any of the other food ordering apps. Have a look on the MK Eats app at who is delivering to your part of Milton Keynes. Maybe you’ll find a new favourite local takeaway!”.
