During the pandemic work placements came to a standstill but now businesses have the opportunity to support year 10 students (aged 14 or 15) with a week of work experience.
Best Practice Training and Development work with local secondary schools in Milton Keynes to organise work experience for year 10 students and specialised placements for older students. The pandemic has had a huge impact on how much exposure to work experience a young person receives and now the team are looking for local businesses to help if they can.
A spokesperson from Best Practice Training and Development said, "The young people of Milton Keynes are missing out on vital work experience and the businesses of Milton Keynes are missing out on potential future talent. Help them gain an insight into the world of work by opening your doors and seeing what wonderful talent Milton Keynes has to offer."
Work experience can help young people start to form choices about their careers and post 16 pathways. A local business could provide a young person with the inspiration to think big about their futures.
