Irish Jo was invited to Sultans in 12th Street to experience their 90 minutes Bottomless Brunch.
Based at 12th Street, Sultans in the sunshine is so inviting. Not to mention, when you step inside the door, you cannot help but to take in the beautiful décor. The ceiling is like a sea of pink flowers, along with the colourful seating arrangement, makes it no wonder they have been popular to host weddings, christenings and special occasions.
Staff greet you with the biggest smiles, and we chose to sit opposite the kitchen, as who doesn’t love being able to see where your food is being made. The aromas of flavour as you are waiting for your meal, had my taste buds quenching.
Bottomless brunch, is a 90 minute, two course all you can drink menu. Sometimes you find the drinks limited on these type of menus but we could choose from a selection of cocktails including a “Pornstar Martini” (my favourite) along with wine prosecco, beers or soft drinks making this menu one of the most generous in the city.
If you thought the drinks were the main part of this, the food we were served and the size of the portions blew us away.
To start we had, Sigara Borek, perfectly cook filo pastry filled with feta cheese and spinach – the spinach being a surprise touch as I had not tasted it like this before. My friend ordered Hallumi Sticks and they were crispy with the hallumi a perfect texture to crunch into. The mains were no let down either. I ordered Adana, grilled minced lamb kofte served on a bed of onions, parsley and spices. The flavours within the lamb topped off with a charcoal finish was to die for. My friend ordered Chicken Sarma, one of my usual favourites and so appealing to the eye how it is served, in rolled up flatbread sliced into pinwheels on a bed of yoghurt.
The food took us about an hour leaving loads of time for a couple more drinks. This menu definitely saved us money, and we didn’t have to TAKE A HIT ON the quality of the food.
