Ole Tapas Bar have taken the food industry by storm since they opened 3 years ago, winning multiple awards with the most recent being the best family restaurant in Milton Keynes, achieved at the Milton Keynes Food and Leisure Awards 2021.

Here is some history as to how it all began.

Juan Carlos, owner of Ole Tapas Bar, and his wife Beatriz moved from San Sabastian which is in the northern Basque region of Spain, to England back in 2002 with zero English and no formal culinary training. Juan started work in the kitchen on Tapa Tapa in London cleaning up and washing the dishes, this all changed since a Chef had walked out, the head chef said to Juan "if you can survive this shift, the job is yours", you know that this is Juans calling in life and it was certainly fate, as 11 months later, he became Sous Chef and just 6 months after this he was promoted to Head Chef.

Since this, Juan has gone on to work for some leading restaurants such as Brindisa, 2 AA Rosette, Notting Hill Brasserie, The Summerhouse and Hispania for Michelin Star Executive Chef, Marcos Moran. They both catered for the Spanish Embassy together and the Botin family who own International bank, Santander. A Santander Executive suggested to Juan that he should open his own restaurant in Milton Keynes "because there are so many Spanish people there!", after some time of debate, Juan and his wife visited Milton Keynes and a few months later had found their new family home and Juan found the perfect spot for his new restaurant... Ole Taps Bar.

Within the first year of Ole Tapas Bar being open, their popularity shot through the roof! they also ranked an #3 out of 394 restaurants in Milton Keynes which is exceptional. They are rated 5 stars for their food and service, they are very highly recommended and once you go for the first time you will certainly visit again and again. The authentic Spanish food speaks for itself, the food is fresh and made on sight and the wine is all from Spain.
