The Smith Recycling Milton Keynes Lightning have today announced that head coach Doug McKay has left the club.
McKay has reportedly decided to leave the club for personal reasons.
The Lightning have had a difficult start to their second season in the Elite League, currently holding a record of 3-11-2.
With just eight points from their opening 15 games, the Lightning find themselves rooted to the bottom of the league.
With McKay stepping down, former Lightning assistant coach Lewis Clifford will take charge on an interim basis, starting with tonight's televised home game against the Glasgow Clan.
Defenceman Ryan Lannon and forward Tim Wallace will also take over coaching responsibilities until a suitable replacement is found.
