Milton Keynes Dons have signed sought-after midfielder Scott Fraser on a free transfer.
Fraser, 25, arrives at Stadium MK having played 221 career games, during which time he has scored 36 goals and provided 50 assists - contributing towards a goal every 2.5 games.
He has spent the past two years with Burton Albion and last season was the Brewers’ top goal contributor courtesy of nine goals and 14 assists. He was also second amongst Sky Bet League One players for assists and third in terms of key passes.
Fraser becomes Russell Martin’s sixth new signing of this summer and he will wear the number 10 shirt.
“This wasn’t the only option I had but I’ve come here because the Chairman and manager made me feel wanted and because I’m excited to be a part of what this Club is trying to do,” Fraser told iFollow MK Dons after completing his move to Stadium MK.
“I watched the game on Tuesday and the football was brilliant to watch. Everything the manager told me to look out for before the game, I saw on the pitch. I think the style of play here will get the best out of me.
“I’m happy to get my future sorted. It’s been an interesting summer, with the offers that were coming in but there was nothing I could excited about, except here. Here, I felt wanted and saw a feel-good factor about the place. I can’t wait to get started.”
Born in Dundee, Fraser began his career with Dundee United, progressing through their youth ranks before making his debut as a 19-year-old in a Scottish Premiership clash away at Celtic.
He went on to total 106 games for Dundee United, scoring 15 goals and providing 28 assists, before moving to Burton Albion ahead of the 2018/19 season.
With the Brewers, Fraser continued his form in front of goal, finding the net 16 times in 91 appearances while also making 19 assists - contributing a goal every 2.6 games.
Including a short loan spell at Airdrieonians, he has scored 36 career goals and provided 50 assists in 221 games - contributing towards a goal every 2.5 games.
Martin told mkdons.com: “He’s a player that I’ve liked and admired for a while. He was probably one of the best midfielders that we played against last season and his goal and assist record, particularly in this division, speaks for itself.
“We went for him really early in the window but we thought he’d gotten away from us because of the interest that was in him. We’ve kept working on it and over the last few days, it became a real option for us.
“I’m excited to bring him into the squad. He’ll bring something a bit different to our midfield, especially in the final third of the pitch. We’ve rebuilt that part of the pitch this summer and I’m really happy with how it looks.”
