Milton Keynes Dons head coach Liam Manning has said the club are being patient in their search for another striker.
The Dons' top two players at the position, Mo Eisa and Will Grigg, are both sidelined with differing injuries and the Dons could do with adding another to give them more depth through what will be another long season in League One.
20-year-old Matt Dennis will likely lead the line until Grigg, and later down the line Eisa, returns but the Dons are still searching for a fourth out-and-out striker. However, the club will not be rushing or panic-buying just for the sake of having another body in the squad.
Speaking in his press conference ahead of the Dons' trip to Ipswich Town, Manning explained: "We're exploring the market, we're seeing what's out there."
"I'm sure most managers in the league will tell you how difficult it is to get a nine. There's a real shortage out there, in terms of volumes of players but also quality."
"It's really important we don't just rush and panic and just get anybody in for the sake of having another striker. It's a lot more important that we're a little more patient with it and work really hard to get the right one."
He concluded: "We're doing a huge amount of work with it behind the scenes."
