Reports today have linked Milton Keynes Dons with a move for Irish midfielder Dawson Devoy.

With Matt O'Riley on the verge of a move to Scottish club Celtic, the Dons will be needing additional reinforcements in the middle of the park this month - with no less than eight players already out the door, with O'Riley potentially becoming the ninth before the weekend.

And the latest name linked with a move to Stadium MK is Bohemians' Dawson Devoy.

The 20-year-old had a breakout season for Bohs in 2021, helping to guide them to fifth in the League of Ireland Premier Division, landing on the league's Team of the Year while also claiming the league's Young Player of the Year award.

Despite his age, Devoy has already racked up 66 professional appearances (three goals, ten assists) for Bohemians, including their recent Europa Conference League qualifiers, and has earned himself four caps with the Republic of Ireland Under-21s team.

The Dons have had some success with young Irish players over the past year, with Under-21 internationals Warren O'Hora and Peter Kioso having had a significant impact while fully capped Troy Parrott showed promise at the start of the year and Conor Coventry, also Under-21s capped, has recently joined on loan from West Ham United.

After the reports appeared earlier in the day, responses from fans of the Irish club on social media would suggest the move for Devoy could be yet another in a long line of impressive young signings since Liam Sweeting took on the role of Sporting Director at the club.
