MK Dons can confirm it has not applied to be considered for a pilot event at this Saturday’s Sky Bet League One fixture with Lincoln City.
The Club has been working, over the last few weeks, to make the necessary arrangements to welcome fans back to Stadium MK and, as current Government guidelines allows for non-elite sport to take place in front of crowds, the Club had already chosen this Sunday’s FA Women’s Premier League Southern Premier Division fixture between MK Dons and Watford as the opportunity to first implement its Covid-secure protocols for supporters.
Confirmation that clubs could host pilot events at EFL matches came at very short notice from Government, as the EFL explained in their statement on Tuesday. The EFL also made it clear that they could not guarantee that clubs that would like to stage a pilot would be given permission to do so.
MK Dons remains focused on its efforts to welcome all Season Ticket holders back to Stadium MK for first-team fixtures in early October, as per current Government guidance. The Club is working diligently with the SGSA, local authorities, the EFL, and it’s supporter working groups to ensure that plans are in place to welcome fans back as and when we receive the green light.
Sunday’s match will take place at 2pm, with up to 1,000 supporters set to be allowed to attend in a Covid-secure environment. For ticket information click HERE.
