Milton Keynes Dons have announced that loanee Daniel Oyegoke has returned to parent club Brentford, making him the first departure in the January transfer window.

The 19-year-old wing back joined the Dons back in July, under then-head coach Liam Manning, and made 18 total appearances during his stay at Stadium MK.

The former England Under-19 international rotated regularly at the right wing back position with Henry Lawrence until the return of Tennai Watson, who has taken his regular starting role back.

Making his first real mark at the professional level after making his way through the Arsenal and Brentford youth systems, Oyegoke's last league action came back in October in a 1-0 loss to Wycombe Wanderers.

After failing to make most of the Dons' subsequent match-day squads, Brentford opted to bring him back and will no doubt look to send him back out on another loan to help him continue to build his experiences.

A club statement read: "The Club would like to thank Daniel for his contribution during his time at Stadium MK and wish him every success in the future."

Big changes are expected at Stadium MK this month, with new head coach Mark Jackson installed and a serious need for new recruitment to give the team a serious chance of pulling themselves out of the relegation zone.

Balance and physicality have both been mentioned as attributes the club are seeking, and with Oyegoke potentially beginning an exodus of loanees and even contracted players, new faces are bound to be coming through the door in the near future.
