Milton Keynes Council seizes vehicle after being caught on camera dumping car parts in bushes

Milton Keynes Council’s crackdown on criminal fly tippers continues, and this morning officers have seized a vehicle suspected to be involved in dumping waste.

Earlier this year a person was caught on CCTV dumping car parts in bushes outside shops in Farthing Grove, Netherfield using the seized vehicle, an Audi TT.

MK Council officers swiftly opened an investigation and began efforts to contact the car’s owner, who failed to respond until it was seized. The investigation can now continue.

Cllr Emily Darlington, Cabinet Member of the Public Realm said, "We will use all our powers to catch people who treat our city like a tip. It’s a serious criminal offence and will do all we can to crackdown on offenders to reduce waste crimes across MK.”

“Since the vehicle seizure today, the owner has now come forward and MK Council officers will now investigate further as part our fly tipping prevention work,” added Cllr Darlington.
