The economic recovery plan by Milton keynes Council includes a £1.25m boost to support local businesses and will provide further skills training to help get local people back into work.
The Economic Recovery Plan has been created by Milton Keynes Council in partnership with local businesses and builds on a previous £2.25m investment from the council that has so far supported over 400 businesses and 12,000 residents.
MK Council's Cabinet is due to consider the new plan on 13 July.
Current plans include:
Supporting MK’s Businesses
- MK SME Restart Programme which includes giving 100 small businesses access to support from MK Chamber of Commerce, MK Business Leaders Partnership, Federation of Small Businesses and South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP)
- Supporting investor networks in the city
Supporting MK’s people
- Extending the partnership with Rebel Business School to deliver business training for aspiring entrepreneurs.
- Further supporting young people develop skills
Supporting the city
- Attract inward investment and marketing of the city

MK Council's Economic Recovery Plan is in addition to the £190m in direct support to local businesses handed out by the council.
