All bin collections suspended in Milton Keynes due to icy weather

All waste and recycling collections have been suspended in Milton Keynes due to icy weather.

It follows a day of heavy snow across many parts of Milton Keynes yesterday, which meant that bin collection teams are unable to safely operate today.

In a statement, Milton Keynes Council said: "We’ve had to suspend all waste and recycling collections across Milton Keynes today due the icy weather conditions."

"This is protect our crews, vehicles and other road users."

"Providing the conditions improve over the day and overnight, we will be running one day behind this week."

"So, if your waste was due for collection today it will be collected tomorrow (Tuesday) and Friday’s collections will be collected on Saturday 30 January."

"We are sorry for the inconvenience and we will be making every effort to collect your waste and recycling the very next day."

The changes mean that bin collections from today will happen tomorrow, Tuesday's collections will take place on Wednesday, Wednesday's collections will take place on Thursday and Friday's collections will take place on Saturday.
