Midweek Basketball returns to Bletchley Leisure Centre this Wednesday evening as MK Breakers host Lougborough Riders in what has potential to be the game of the season. Tip-Off is 7pm.
Both sides are currently chasing down a Top Four finish, with the Breakers currently occupying fourth spot. The Riders sit in sixth, just two points behind the Breakers, meaning a win for either side would play an important role in their final standings.
The Riders roster is full of talented players, none more so than Victor Ndoukou who is enjoying a fine season for Loughborough. He currently is averaging 20.2 Points per Game – the fourth highest in the division, he’s also averaging 8.1 Rebounds per Game and shooting 87% from the line, all of which have led him to an efficiency score of 482. Michael Joiner (16.4) and Justin Hedley (15.8) are also both averaging double figure points for this season, with Hedley also leading the Riders for assists with 4.3 per game.
The Riders have won their last two league games, overcoming Bristol Hurricanes and Hemel Storm in recent weeks. Meanwhile, the Breakers have overcome Bradford Dragons and Team Newcastle University in their last two league outings.
The two sides have met twice this season, the first clash game in September as the Breakers ran out 80-77 winners despite trailing by seven points with six minutes left to play. More recently, the Breakers were 90-82 winners in Loughborough as Adrian Scarborough netted 25 points and 12 rebounds for the Breakers.
With so much still left to play for, both sides will be looking to put on a show and secure that all-important fourth place spot.
