Preview: Breakers host COB Rockets

MK Breakers go in search of back-to-back wins this weekend as they host City of Birmingham Rockets at Bletchley Leisure Centre this Saturday – tip-off is 5pm.

The Breakers are coming off the back of an impressive 103-87 win over Worthing Thunder in which Adrian Scarborough and Nate Robinson scored 25 points each. Their performances earned them both places in Team of the Week – with Scarborough being named Player of the Week.

City of Birmingham Rockets, meanwhile, come into the clash having overcome Nottingham Hoods 100-73 in their last league outing. Zach Powell took the headlines in that win as he netted 31 points and added seven assists and six boards. It’s Powell who has been the man to watch for City of Birmingham as he places inside the top 10 for Efficiency, 3-point percentage and free throw percentage.

It’s Powell who tops the charts for scoring for his side with 17.5 points per game, with Orlan Jackman (12.9) and Samuel Toluwase (10.1) also hitting double digits for City of Birmingham.

The two sides have already met this season, with the Breakers coming out on top 90-71, with KJ Johnson’s 29 points guiding the Breakers to victory back in December.

City of Birmingham sit ninth in the table but are just two points off the Breakers who currently place fifth. Although a win for Billy Beddow’s side won’t see them climb into the top five, it would certainly help narrow the four-point gap between them and Loughborough Riders.

The Breakers are currently the second highest scoring team in the division, with City of Birmingham Rockets not far behind in sixth place. All signs lead towards a very high-scoring and entertaining game of Basketball so make sure you grab your tickets HERE.
