Mrs. D what's to see? Mrs. D was back at MK Theatre last night to see Greatest Days and here is her review...
30 years of Greatest Days and 30 years since Take That’s first UK number one single Pray.
Celebrating this momentous anniversary, The Official Take That Musical Greatest Days comes to Milton Keynes.
I had heard such good things about this musical, but never really understood what it was about. I arrived thinking it was about the famous boy band, but it wasn’t really about them at all. It’s a very well told story of a group of Boy band fans, which took me back to my teenage years when I used to love boy bands such as New Kids on the Block and Bros and eventually take that arrived in my early 20’s.
From the moment it started I was hooked, the story was full of fun and laughter but with some added shocks, twists, and turns along the way.
The show was full of talent, the singing and dancing was great, and they got you involved with clapping to their hits making you feel like you were part of the performance during the concert scenes. The actors playing the grown-up versions of the fan group were funny, but also very moving in some parts, this included Kym Marsh who played Rachel, but I loved Jamie-Rose Monk who played Claire.
All the girls that played the younger fan group, great actors, singers, and dancers, but the standout performer for me was Mary Moore, her voice was amazing.
The funniest actor was Alan Stocks who wore so many hats during this performance, turning up where you least expect him and was very comical with it.
Greatest Days does what is says on the tin, it was GREAT. Great for a girl’s night or just a great night out. You will be singing, dancing a laughing, a recipe for a fun night out!
