As of tomorrow (19/3), Walton High will be closed for students in Year 7, 8 and 9 until further notice.
Following the Government's latest advice for people who may be infected with COVID-19 to isolate with their whole household for 14 days, Walton High no longer has the staff needed to have all students in the school.
Michelle Currie, Executive Principal, today (18/3) issued a statement that reads: "We have reluctantly taken the decision that from Thursday 19 March, Walton High will be closed to students in Years 7, 8 and 9. Work will be set via Firefly for students who have access to a PC/tablet and the internet.
"For students who are unable to continue their learning in this way, work will be given to these students at the end of the day. Any additional work that may be needed will be posted home. Should the school’s closure be for an extended period of time, we will make arrangements for these students to be able to post their work back to their teachers for feedback."

Special arrangements are available for children of NHS workers who are unable to make other arrangements for their children to be looked after. Those affected are being advised to send their children to school as normal and email bl-attendance@mket.org.uk or wt-attendance@mket.org.uk.
Walton High is not the only school in Milton Keynes experiencing low staff levels due to the new Government advice. Yesterday (17/3), it was announced that Lord Grey has closed for students in Year 9 and Year 10 this week.
