Two of the 'most successful' contestants from UK baking shows now live in Milton Keynes

Two of the 'most successful' contestants from UK baking shows now live in Milton Keynes.

That's all according to Magnet, who conducted research into the contestants of popular shows including The Bake Off and MasterChef.

Magnet ranked 149 contestants on seven key factors, including the number of TV appearances, published books, Google searches, estimated earnings per social media post, and the different areas of the food industry the contestants have ventured into.

As a result, Nadiya Hussain has been crowned as the "most successful" contestant from TV cooking and baking competitions, followed by Candice Brown and Andrew Kojima.

Nadiya Hussain and Candice Brown both live here in Milton Keynes. Nadiya won The Great British Bake Off (GBBO) in 2015 and has since had a successful career within the food, publishing and entertainment industries.

She has kept herself busy by writing 14 books, from cooking and baking to children’s stories, appearing 113 times in different TV shows, and collaborating on a range of projects including writing for The Times.

Nadiya also has a large social media presence, as she often posts cooking and home decor posts to her 797,000 Instagram followers. She will often share photographs and videos of her young family walking throughout Milton Keynes.

In second place is Candice Brown, who won the GBBO the year after Nadiya, in 2016.

After winning this competition, she quit her job as a PE teacher to pursue a career within the food and entertainment industries.

She is a food writer for The Sunday Times, and has also ventured onto the big screen, appearing in the film ‘Love Sarah’ in 2020, which, appropriately, centres around a bakery.

Her popularity also seems to be on the rise on Google, receiving 105,720 searches from 2017 to 2021.

According to Magnet, Candice Brown lives in Milton Keynes and owns The Green Man Pub in Eversholt with her brother.

Candice is often spotted delivering puddings to customers and wiping down the tables. "I don't shy away from hard work, and I never wanted to just lend my name to this and then disappear," she said.

Other celebrities that are living in Milton Keynes include Greg Rutherford. The retired British track and field athlete lives with his family in Woburn Sands.

He is also now training to join the GB bobsleigh team and complete in the 2022 Winter Olympics!
