Two new shops will be opening at MK1 Shopping and Leisure Park in Bletchley, according to the UK’s leading commercial property platform.
There is currently one empty unit along the main stretch of MK1's shop front after Outfit closed earlier this year. The shop, which was home to various brands including Topshop and Burton, was one of the dozens under the Arcadia Group that were forced to close to prevent Sir Philip Green's retail empire falling into administration.
The unit was left empty for months during the coronavirus pandemic but it seems things are now moving along. Completely Property has shared the news that this large unit will now be split into two - bringing two new stores to the shopping complex.
Superdrug will be opening up shop in half of the unit, with the new store spanning across 7,500sq ft. The health and beauty retailer is incredibly popular in the UK and is the second-largest retailer of its kind behind Boots.
One of these units is still left undecided for, however, with Completely Property's website stating that a 10,000 sq ft unit is still available to let.
An MKFM reporter visited the site this morning to discover that the Outfit signage had been removed and that construction on the two units had begun. There were signs up in the store windows stating that the principal contractor is Faircloth Construction Ltd and the client is The Crown Estate.
There is currently no sign as to when the Superdrug store will be opening but MKFM will keep you updated on any further developments.
