Family to arrange private service following road death.
The family of John Hickmott has released a tribute to their loved one who died following a fatal road traffic collision on the city’s Tongwell Street earlier this month.
“We would like to thank all those who have kindly supported him over many years,” said the tribute.
“There will be a private service for John arranged at a suitable time by his family. This will be the only statement that we will be releasing on this matter and we would ask you to respect ours and John’s friends’ privacy at this desperately difficult time.”
John’s makeshift bus shelter home was well-known in the city. It’s understood that, despite offers, he did not want to be moved from it.
The family have not released a picture of John.
