A section of the M1 Northbound through Milton Keynes will be closed overnight for smart motorway works tonight (12/10).
Tonight (12/20), the M1 Northbound carriageway between Junction 12 and Junction 15 will be closed for smart motorway works, Newport Pagnell Services and the Junction 14 entry slip will also be closed.
Another full closure will be in place on this stretch for three nights from Monday 17th October.
On the Southbound carriageway, Junction 15a to 15 lane 1 and 2 will be closed overnight today (12/10).
A full timetable of closures can be found here.
It is all part of the £373 million works to convert the existing section of the M1 from Junction 13 at Milton Keynes South to Junction 16 at the Upper Heyford Interchange (A45 to Daventry, A4500 to Northampton) into a smart motorway.
The works are due to be complete between the end of 2022 and 2023.
A spokesperson for National Highways said: "Roadworks affect all journeys which is why it is important they are completed as quickly and safely as possible. Our overnight closures are under constant review and we aim to open the road earlier than the times displayed wherever possible.
"Please be considerate of residents living along the diversion routes when travelling during these closures. Closures can only be installed once traffic flows are at their lowest."
