More than 300 flats to be built on Grafton Gate.
Construction firm Galliford Try has said it would like to build a 33-storey tower block on Milton Keynes’ Grafton Gate, close to the city’s central railway station.
The 599 Grafton Gate scheme will have 302 one and two-bedroom flats for rent with commercial spaces at ground floor level, to provide attractive, modern, open plan city-centre living, reflecting the current demand in Milton Keynes.
The building will feature a fitness studio, games room and a residents’ lounge, along with flexible workspace and a private dining area. Residents will also get an orangery and rooftop landscaped terrace on the 29th floor as well as a landscaped terrace and internal lounge at the 10th floor providing views of the city centre and countryside.
The building firm has previously been responsible for the construction of the muti-storey car parks at Milton Keynes University Hospital and also built the hospital’s 3000 square foot Cancer Centre.
“We are delighted to have been successful in achieving planning permission for the 599 Grafton Gate scheme, which adds to our growing portfolio of PRS (private rental sector) developments across the UK,” said Phil Harris, Galliford Try Investments managing director.
“This is our first PRS scheme in Milton Keynes as a developer/contractor and we look forward to working with the council planning department on future PRS opportunities in the city.
“599 Grafton Gate will deliver high quality, professionally managed new homes for local people in Milton Keynes and we look forward to commencing construction in the near future.”
