The reasons why Milton Keynes has been named 'The UK's Greenest City' in new research

Milton Keynes has been voted as 'The UK's Greenest City' in new research by holiday rental search engine Holidu.

Our city has been given the honour given the average of 15.42m² of parks per ten inhabitants we are lucky enough to live around.

It's almost double the amount of city green space and parkland compared to the second greenest city in the UK - Warrington in England.

As part of the research, the company identified Willen Lake as Milton Keynes' most popular park which attracts more than 750,000 visitors annually.

The two lakes are surrounded by 180 acres of lush landscaped parkland.

Campbell Park was also given a mention in the research as being a key part of the reason behind our city being given the new title.

Making up the remainder of the top five 'greenest cities' were Peterborough, Northampton and Stoke-On-Trent.
