A local resident claims Tesco has employed extra security and staff in their Kingston store to prevent shoppers buying critical items in bulk.
With products such as milk, bread, eggs and pasta in low supply, the supermarket is said to be taking a strict approach to ensure in demand items.
Local residents posted their eye witness accounts online, with one shopper praising the store for their stance on bulk-buying.
One shopper said: “They had bread, but no milk apart from some alternative milks. One shopper had three bags of pasta and was told to put two back.
“Well done Tesco for taking a no nonsense approach to the situation.”
