Red Bull Racing earned its first double points finish of the 2025 season at the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Four-time World Champion Max Verstappen gained a place in a difficult race to claim P6, while teammate Yuki Tsunoda also climbed one place to pick up his first points as a Red Bull driver with a P9 finish.

The two drivers drove different strategies in this race, starting on medium tyres with Verstappen having a tough middle stint on hards before switching back to mediums.

Tsunoda, meanwhile, began on mediums and put another set of mediums before later switching to softs under the safety car.

Both cars were involved in close battles, with Verstappen fighting the likes of Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton and Alpine's Pierre Gasly, pipping the latter to the chequered flag at the final turn of the race.

Tsunoda finished the race ahead of a close train of cars, with Haas' Ollie Bearman and Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli close behind him, thanks to the safety car bunching everyone up.

The 24-year-old Japanese driver had a fierce battle with Williams' Carlos Sainz, with damage to Sainz's side pod leading to his retirement.

While Verstappen will be disappointed with finishing P6, having struggled with his car throughout the weekend, Tsunoda's two points are the first time Red Bull's second driver has scored more than one point since Sergio Pérez's P7 finish at the 2024 US Grand Prix.

Red Bull will need to make serious adjustments to the RB21's setup at next weekend's Saudi Arabian Grand Prix at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, with Verstappen dropping to eight points behind Lando Norris in the Drivers' Championship, with Oscar Piastri leapfrogging him into second place.
