Public call for submissions ahead of Milton Keynes Rose 10-Year Anniversary Art Project

Artists and residents across Milton Keynes are invited to contribute their work in celebration of the Milton Keynes Rose’s upcoming 10-year anniversary.

The call seeks submissions of memories, stories, poetry, art, and photography, all inspired by the iconic public art piece located in Campbell Park.

As part of the 10-year anniversary project, The Milton Keynes Rose commissioned artist, Jakub Rokita, is collecting an array of creative works and memorabilia to feature in an Audio Tour launching in late 2024, and an archival project curated by the Living Archive Milton Keynes. The goal is to preserve and showcase the unique stories and impressions surrounding the Rose, highlighting its significance to both local residents and visitors.

Submissions can include anything from written works, drawings, and photographs to memorabilia such as newspaper clippings, postcards, and objects related to the Milton Keynes Rose. The project aims to capture personal reflections and memories that demonstrate the impact and meaning the Rose holds for the community.

Interested participants can contribute to the project by submitting their materials through the following link: Submission Form.

Additionally, residents can keep up-to-date with the latest project information and event listings on the Milton Keynes Rose website: Milton Keynes Rose.

To celebrate the project, a pop-up art exhibition will be held at the MK Gallery Event Space on Friday, September 13, from 1pm to 5pm. This exhibition will provide a glimpse into the artistic works and memories that shape the legacy of the Milton Keynes Rose. More information about the event can be found here: Pop-Up Art Show.
