The owners of ‘A Pizza This’ are left devastated following extensive damage to their van and several items of stock stolen.
The van, usually parked at Willen Lake, was extensively refurbished just eighteen months ago and has been subject to an attack which has seen most of its windows smashed, indicators ripped off and newly fitted skylight and CCTV cameras thrown into the lake.
The small independent business, which opened in April last year, has been popular with locals and visitors to Willen Lake. The owners told MKFM that they spent a whole winter converting the Volksvagen T25 campervan into a wood fired pizza outlet.
The incident happened between the hours of 8:30pm, Thursday 7th June and 5am, Friday 8th June, when the owners packed away for the evening. They received a call from a runner who noticed the van had smashed windows.
Luckily no valuables are kept in the van, but lots of drinks were taken from the fridge and a number of Tassimo hot drink pods and some metal food containers.
The biggest concern for the owners is the damage that was caused which has virtually made it impossible to trade from the van.
Chris Tyler, the daughters owner, said: “A customer has kindly set up a Just Giving Page to help us get the business up and running again. We are very grateful for the support and any information that anyone can give”.
You can find the justgiving page set up here.
