Plans for a new play area near Hazeley Academy are set to be discussed in Council.

The new play park would be built on land next to Hazeley Academy and near The Walnuts School, on open space to the west of the Portway grid road. The play park, if approved, the play area would be served by a small car park located to the south-east of the site, off Otterburn Crescent.

Residents have raised concerns about the proposals stating that the area is already prone to vandalism and disruptive behaviour, with fears that this would bring more to the area.

Plans for the new play area include nine pieces of park equipment, a bench and a bin.

Milton Keynes Council's Highways team have raised concerns surrounding the future of the area, stating that it is on a site of a future travel corridor.

Concerns that have been raised by residents include a lack of parking for additional traffic for use of play park, the impact of on wildlife/habitats and  Anti-social behaviour.

A decision is set to be made on a new play area by Milton Keynes Council on 17th March.
