An online petition has been launched to 'Save The Point' in Central Milton Keynes, with over 100 signatures so far in under 24 hours.
It has been launched by local resident Christina Cragg who wants as many people as possible to sign it.
Launching the petition, Christina posted: "Please save this vital part of Milton Keynes History. The Milton Keynes Point was not only the first multiplex cinema in the country but a groundbreaking piece of architecture on the city's skyline."
"The citizens of Milton Keynes have fond memories and would really like to see it restored to its former glory...SAVE OUR POINT!"
The Point first opened in 1985 and has been an iconic part of the Central Milton Keynes skyline ever since.
Planning permission has already been given for its demolition to take place, but no date has yet been set for when it will happen.
