People are being invited to have their second AstraZeneca vaccination in Milton Keynes this Sunday

The NHS is encouraging everyone to get their second AstraZeneca vaccination this Sunday (23 May).

In what is being dubbed “Super Sunday”, vaccination teams have selected three locations across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes.  The drop-in sessions are being offered at our large vaccination centres to make the most of available vaccine supplies.  There is no need to book and the public can attend without the need for an appointment – all helping to make it easier to get protected against COVID-19.

The sessions have been set aside for those who have already had their first AstraZeneca vaccination and can only be given to those who have waited a minimum of eight weeks from their first dose. It is important to bring along the vaccination card which will have been given at the first appointment.

Anyone who is 40 or over or eligible to be vaccinated for another reason should ideally bring their NHS number with them to their appointment.

Those people who already have a booked appointment at a vaccination centre, GP-led site or pharmacy should still attend their appointment as planned.

    The three locations are:

Bedford Heights, Manton Lane, Bedford, MK41 7BJ
Redgrave Children and Young People’s Centre, 27 Redgrave Gardens, Luton, LU3 3QN
Saxon Court    1 Saxon Gate, East, Milton Keynes MK9 3EJ

All sessions run between 8.30am and 3.00pm.

Please note: the first dose of AstraZeneca is for over 40s only.

The second dose can only be given to those who have waited a minimum of eight weeks from their first dose of AstraZeneca.
