Parks Trust challenge Milton Keynes's schoolchildren to design litter posters

The Litter Poster competition will choose a winning design to display around parks and Parish Councils in Milton Keynes to encourage people to stop littering.

The competition run by Parks Trust and Milton Keynes Environment and Waste team is open to Milton Keynes school children aged 5 till 11 and youth community groups in the city.

In the last year, littering has increased drastically causing issues across the UK and in Milton Keynes with the risk of harming wildlife and damaging the planet.

The competition is the latest in initiatives to stop littering in the city as even bagged litter that is dumped around parks can cause issues to the environment.

The winner of the competition will not only see their poster displayed across Milton Keynes but will also win a certificate and a choice of either a free Outdoor Learning Sessions with Parks Trust or 10 litter picking sets for their class/community group.

The poster must be A4, contain images and limited text, as well be eye-catching and easy to understand and should include one of these key messages:

    • Take your litter home to recycle
    • If the bin is full, take your litter home
    • Leave nothing but footprints

Those wanting to enter must get permission from their class teacher or community group leader before entering.

To submit your entry, find out more information and tips, please visit Park's Trust's website.

Entries can also be sent via post to The Outdoor Learning Team, The Parks Trust, Campbell Park Pavilion, 1300 Silbury Bvd, Milton Keynes MK9 4AD.
