Free and limited waiting places to be replaced with tariffs.
Changes to parking space regulations in the city centre could be on their way, after Milton Keynes City Council published an official consultation paper proposing new amendments.
Under the proposal revealed yesterday (3rd April) the council wants to remove all existing car share parking places in Central Milton Keynes and replace them with standard tariff and premium tariff parking places.
It’s also proposing removing all existing free and limited waiting parking places in Central Milton Keynes and replace them with standard tariff and premium tariff parking places.
Among the roads affected in a list of more than a dozen streets are Saxon Gate, Midsummer Boulevard, Avebury Boulevard and Secklow Gate.
The proposal is based on the results of a council review of parking; a citywide initiative designed to assess parking pressures and identify areas where parking controls would help to alleviate them.
The council says it wants to manage parking availability and usage by altering a combination of parking restrictions and places. It’s inviting comments on the proposals up until 24th April.
