New Subway store to open at Milton Keynes retail park

After last month's exclusive announcement that Aldi would move to The Place retail park, it's been announced that Subway is also opening a takeaway there.

Subway is to open another branch in Milton Keynes at The Place retail park, less than one mile away from another branch at Central Milton Keynes station.

The opening date is yet to be announced, but it comes after we exclusively revealed that Aldi will move its store in Bradwell Common to the city centre retail park.

Subway is the latest takeaway to move into The Place, with branches of Taco Bell, McDonald's and Starbucks already at the retail park.

However, there have been concerns about the increase in traffic that a new supermarket and another takeaway could bring to the site.

Currently, the retail park has only one entrance which often generates traffic on the nearby mini-roundabout.

During the lockdown, the drive-through facilities at a number of the restaurants at The Place have led to congestion in the local area, but restrictions being lifted in coming months, there is hope this will ease.

The retail park had been relatively quiet previously, but with the plans of Aldi and Subway, another two entrances will be created for The Place and additional 40 parking spaces.
