Plans for the new council housing.

The Parks Trust will surrender a partial lease of land next to the former Cripps Lodge site in Netherfield to allow MK Council to build 66 new council homes.

The Parks Trust is set to receive £255,000, the value of the land is thought to be £246,389.

A scheme for the new homes was granted planning permission in February 2021.

Last week, MK Council announced the plans for 66 new council homes. In order for the work to progress, the Council had to purchase the leasehold of a small piece of land adjacent to the site from The Parks Trust.

“Negotiations have taken place with The Parks Trust who have agreed to surrender their leasehold interest in the part of the site required for development,” a report.

A deposit of £24,500 will be paid to The Parks Trust for an agreement for surrender. The remainder will be paid on completion of the deed of surrender.

The development plans include a mix of:

    • Two and three-bedroom bungalows
    • Three, four and five-bedroom houses
    • One and two-bedroom apartments

    Construction works start next year.
