A brand new convenience store has opened on Stony Stratford high street, with a new post office.
A new Wilks' Budgens and Post Office has opened in Stony Stratford today (5 October).
The Budgens store has taken over the former McColls unit on the High Street.
Residents have welcomes the news of the opening, stating that it is a 'very welcome addition to Stony High Street'.
A spokesperson for the new convenience store has taken to social media to state that the store has 'nothing to do' with the old Budgens store which suddenly closed earlier this year.
Tesco opened in its place in February.
"To make clear we are nothing to do with the or like the dreadful old Budgens store that used to be in Stony Stratford. We are also aware of the current difficulties with the Post Office," a spokesperson took to Facebook to say.
"As [a] local independent retailer we are very much looking forward to being part of such a great community. Paul and Emma."
