The Trust is introducing new beds and mattresses across all Milton Keynes University Hospital wards from 26th April to 6th May 2022.
The new beds and mattresses are set to replace all of the hospital's current stock - with the exception of new beds already installed.
MK University Hospital says the new items will help to improve the comfort and safety of its patients.
The suppliers, Medstrom, began the delivery of the beds yesterday (26/4) and are set to install approximately 50 new beds, or the equivalent of two wards, each day.
The new beds are set to reduce the risk of falls due to the ability to lower them further.
The new mattresses are hybrid, a mixture of foam and air, meaning staff can adapt them to the needs of the patients rather than having to arduously swap them out.
Delivery will take place at the Cook Chill entrance (pictured below) and this entrance will be closed during the delivery hours, which is 0700 – 1700hrs from Monday to Friday.
Milton Keynes Hospital is asking people to use other entrances during these times.
