More than 33,000 FREE activity sessions on offer for young people in Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes Council is offering more than 33,000 FREE activity sessions for children and young people this summer.

Between 1st and 25th August, the council-formed Summer of Play will be taking place across MK.

Each session includes FREE food and at least four hours of activities and will run across 50 locations, with a wide range of sports, crafts, cookery, music and activities for children of all ages.

This year, MK Council has worked with 40 local clubs, charities, schools and organisations to provide activities.  Activities run by MK Council will also take place in Children and Family Centres, the Youth Service and MKC Music Hub.

The full programme is available to all families living in MK and can be viewed online.

To book spaces, families should contact providers directly using the contact details within the programme.

Cllr Zoe Nolan, Cabinet Member for Children and Families said: “Our Summer of Play is back and is available to all families across the city. We understand that it’s a tough time for everyone which is why we have increased local funding to ensure all children and young people can take part. Nobody should be left out and our providers are able to cater their events for those with special educational needs and disabilities.

"We've had huge support from our school community and are excited to be offering even more places and additional activities alongside healthy free meals. We’re pleased to be building on the success of last year and look forward to seeing many of you over the summer.”

MK Council say the programme will be updated daily to reflect any sessions that are fully booked.
