MKFM's 90s vs 00s Throwback Party hailed massive success

MKFM took over the Marshall Arena at Stadium MK with a huge throwback party filled with the biggest hits.

On Saturday 8th April, almost 2,000 people headed to The Marshall Arena at Stadium MK to party with MKFM and some iconic throwback artists.

MKFM announced its first ever 90s vs 00s Throwback Party event back in January with a huge line up of iconic throwback acts.

Former Sugababes singer and MKFM presenter Amelle, iconic 90s group Baby D, best known for their hit single ‘Let Me Be Your Fantasy’ and Rozalla of ‘Everybody’s Free (To Feel Good)’ were among the line-up with electronic duo Phats & Small and MKFM's very own DJ Hurley.

DJ Hurley took to the stage hyping up the crowds with some massive hits and bangers throughout the whole night. His popular MKFM mix's kept the party goers on their feet for nearly 5 hours!

'Absolutely massive. Was a top top show just like the good old days bro,' one person commented on DJ Hurley's performance.

'I had a little rush their when those pianos came in. Love it bro,' another said.

Phats and Small stole the show - not only did they perform their hit 'Turn Around,' but a mashup of some of the biggest 90's and noughties hits.

One guest posted: 'Last night was absolutely mint... Felt like I was reliving my youth at Rollers!'

'I've not danced like that in 25 years, I forgot how much I love it.'

Positive responses have been flying in since the event. 'Absolutely fantastic night, have to say phats and small were the best and dj hurley well he's a legend. Those 2 owned the night!!! Can't wait for the next one!,' one guest told MKFM.

'Absolutely banging night!! Phats and small were insane!,' 'What a brilliant night!'

'Awesome night. Well done MKFM and team.'

'That was just utterly amazing,' one party goer tweeted.

The lighting team got a shoutout too, with one guest telling MKFM - 'A big shout out to the lighting guys. The set was amazing.'

The successful night was the first of many more for MKFM, with Darren Dorrington, CEO, commenting "The feedback from our first event at Marshall Arena has been incredible, I would like to thank EventOne, IPS and Stadium MK for their help in making this an unforgettable event.

"We are aware that the bar at Marshall Arena was overwhelmed during the event, this was due to several hundred additional ticket sales in the hours leading upto the event.

"Plans are already in place for additional bars and pop up stalls selling food and drink following the success of our 90s VS 00s event."
