MKFM: general election 2024 updates LIVE in Milton Keynes

    MKFM will be updating this article LIVE throughout the evening as results for the 2024 general election come in. 

    Polling stations across 650 constituencies in England, Scotland and, Wales and Northern Ireland opened today (July 4) at 7am. Millions of people have and continue to vote in the UK general election, with polls open until 10pm.

    Across the three constituencies in Milton Keynes, there have been 135 polling stations available for voters to cast their ballots.

    Once polls are closed, the counting will begin straight away. 

    This article will be updated LIVE throughout the evening as the results of the Milton Keynes constituencies come in.

    LIVE RESULTS:

    04:01am: Final results announcements for the Milton Keynes constituencies are complete. All elected MPs are Labour Party candidates. 

    03:52am: The final results for the Milton Keynes Central constituency are announced.

    Frances Bonney, Green Party: 3,226 votes

    James Cox, Liberal Democrats – For a fair deal: 4,931 votes

    Emily Darlington, Labour Party: 20,209 votes

    Johnny Luk, The Conservative Party Candidate: 12,918 votes

    David Reilly, Reform UK: 6,245 votes

    Alfred Saint-Clair, Heritage Party – Freedom. Family. Nation. : 200 votes

    The number of  ballot papers rejected in the Milton Keynes central constituency were 201. The total votes cast were 47,930, with an electorate of  81,078 and a turnout of 59.12%.

    Emily Darlington is duly elected as the Member of Parliament for the Milton Keynes Central constituency.

    03:40am: The final results for the Milton Keynes North constituency are announced.

    Chris Curtis, Labour Party: 19,318 votes

    Jane Anne Duckworth, Reform UK: 6,164 votes

    Ben Everitt, The Conservative Party Candidate: 13,888 votes

    Alan Francis, Green Party: 3,242 votes

    Clare Tevlin, Liberal Democrats – For a fair deal: 3,365 votes

    The number of ballot papers rejected in the Milton Keynes North constituency were 184. The total votes cast were 46,161 and a turnout of 65.28%

    Chris Curtis is duly elected as the Member of Parliament for the Milton Keynes North constituency.

    03:18am: The final results for the Buckingham and Bletchley constituency are announced. 

    Callum Anderson, Labour Party: 17,602 votes

    Ray Brady, Independent: 500 votes

    Jordan Cattell, Reform UK: 7,468 votes

    Dominic Dyer, Liberal Democrat – For a fair deal: 4,300 votes

    Amanda Onwuemene, Green Party: 2,590 votes

    Iain Stewart, The Conservative Party Candidate: 15,181 votes

    The number of ballot papers rejected in the Buckingham and Bletchley constituency were 206. The total votes cast were 47,847, with an electorate 74,832 and a turnout of 63.94%. 

    Callum Anderson is duly elected as the Member of Parliament for the Buckingham and Bletchley constituency.

    02:56am: Adjudication for doubtful ballots in the Milton Keynes Central constituency begins.

    2:04am:  Adjudication for doubtful ballots in the Milton Keynes North constituency announced to begin shortly.

    01:35am: Adjudication for doubtful ballots in the Milton Keynes Central constituency announced to begin shortly.

    01:00am: Count begins.

    00:53am: The verification of ballot papers for the Milton Keynes North constituency are announced. The turnout is 65.28% and 46,161 ballot papers are verified to be counted.

    00:51am: The verification of ballot papers for the Buckingham and Bletchley constituency are announced. The turnout is 63.94% and 47,847 ballot papers verified to be counted.

    July 5, 00:47am: Verification of ballot papers for the Milton Keynes Central constituency are announced. The turnout is 59.12% and 47,930 ballot papers are verified to be counted. 

    23:58pm: All ballot boxes are now in count venue as final Buckingham and Bletchley ballots arrive.

    23:55pm: Ballot papers continue to be sorted. Still awaiting beginning of count.

    23:28pm: Final ballots for Milton Keynes North arrives. 

    22:00pm: Polling stations closed, ballots to arrive at count venue soon.
