MK Dons and MK Dons Sport and Education Trust have been awarded EFL Community Project of the Season at the EFL Awards.
Milton Keynes Dons were confirmed as overall winners of the EFL Community Project of the Season award at Sunday's EFL Awards event in London.
The award follows the club's work in an anti-violence and knife crime education programme in association with Thames Valley Police and Milton Keynes City Council.
In December, Milton Keynes hosted the National Monument Against Violence and Aggression (Knife Angel) at Stadium MK. The Knife Angel coming to the City of Milton Keynes brought a month of action as the community stood together against violence of all forms.
Planned events took place throughout the month across the city and include as many partners leaving a legacy for the city of Milton Keynes.
Maralyn Smith, Chief Executive of MK Dons SET, said: "MK Dons and MK Dons SET are extremely proud to win this award for our work around anti-violence and the Knife Angel working in partnership with Thames Valley Police, Milton Keynes City Council and other community organisations.
"The impact of the work has been outstanding, supporting over 3,500 young people and helping them learn about the impact of violence and how to enjoy Milton Keynes safely. The work continues but it’s fantastic for it to be recognised by the EFL."
A total of 10,000 people were engaged, ultimately raising awareness and knowledge of how to keep safe and the impact of knife crime on communities.
Following the month of action, MK Dons SET have since worked with Pink Punters and Jason Fathers to develop and install ‘Serious Bleed Kits’ across Milton Keynes.

Having already raised £2,000 to install 50 kits across Milton Keynes, the target is to provide as many bleed kits to make the communities of our city safer and to best prepare for events of ‘serious bleeds’.
